About Experience

Set off on a private half-day adventure to Koh Madsum (Pig Island) and Koh Taen aboard our luxury longtail boat. Cruise across clear water, meet the pigs on Koh Madsum and jump in for snorkelling around Koh Taen’s coral reef. With beautiful scenery all around and plenty of time to enjoy each stop, it’s an exciting and memorable way to explore two of Koh Samui’s favourite islands.

Two Islands:
Koh Mad Sum “Pig Island”: Koh Madsum, often called Pig Island, is a relaxed spot just off the south of Koh Samui and known for its small group of friendly pigs that live along the shoreline. The island has calm, shallow water, soft sand and plenty of space to unwind. Most visitors spend their time swimming, taking photos with the pigs or enjoying the easygoing beach atmosphere. It’s a fun and memorable stop that appeals to families, couples and anyone looking for a simple, enjoyable island experience.

Koh Taen “Coral Island”: Koh Taen is one of the best places near Koh Samui for snorkelling, known for its clear water, sheltered reef and easy access from the boat. The coral areas here are home to a mix of colourful fish and shallow marine life, making it a great spot for both beginners and confident swimmers. Your guide will bring you to a calm section of the reef where you can snorkel at your own pace, or simply enjoy the scenery from the boat if you prefer. The island itself is quiet and natural, adding to the relaxed atmosphere of the stop.

Conditions on the water can change throughout the day, so each trip is shaped by the tides, weather and where the sea is calmest. Our experienced crew will plan the smoothest route and choose the best snorkelling spots based on the conditions. If there’s an island you’d like to spend longer on, just let us know during the journey. Our goal is for you to have a perfectly relaxed, enjoyable day on the water, with plenty of time to swim, unwind and enjoy each stop at your own pace.

Your Itinerary

Times:
Morning tour: 9am - 1pm
Afternoon tour: 2:30pm - 6:30pm

  • Check in at the pier and meet your captain and guide
  • Cruise towards Koh Madsum (Pig Island)
  • Arrive at Koh Madsum and enjoy the island: meet the pigs, walk to the viewpoint, swim or relax on the beach
  • Continue to Koh Taen for swimming or snorkelling around the coral reef
  • Optional stop for lunch at the local Thai restaurant on Koh Taen
  • Cruise back to Koh Samui

This is a private longtail experience, so the itinerary can be adapted to suit your pace and preferences. Your captain and guide are there to help shape the day and make it as relaxed or active as you like.

How long is the half-day Pig Island & Koh Taen tour?
The tour typically lasts around 4 hours, depending on sea conditions and how long you choose to spend at each island. As it’s a private trip, timing can be flexible within this window.

What can we do on Pig Island (Koh Madsum)?
Most guests enjoy swimming, relaxing on the beach and meeting the island’s pigs, which often wander along the shoreline. The water is shallow and calm, making it suitable for families and casual swimmers.

Is the half-day tour suitable for children?
Yes. The half-day trip is very family-friendly, with short travel distances, calm water in many areas and plenty of time at each stop. Pig Island is especially popular with younger guests.

Do we need snorkelling experience for Koh Taen?
No. The snorkelling area at Koh Taen is suitable for beginners, with clear, shallow water and easy access from the boat. You can snorkel at your own pace or simply relax on the boat if you prefer.

Is snorkelling equipment provided?
Yes, premium snorkelling masks and tubes are provided for all guests. If you have your own equipment, you’re welcome to bring it.

Where does the tour depart from?
The trip departs from one of the piers in the south of Koh Samui. The pier changes according to the season. You’ll receive full meeting details when booking.

Is lunch included on the half-day tour?
Lunch is not included, but optional on the half-day tour. There is usually the opportunity to stop at the beach restaurant on Koh Taen if you’d like to eat.

Can we customise the itinerary?
Yes. Because this is a private trip, you can choose to spend more time at either island. The crew will adjust the route based on your preferences and the sea conditions on the day.

What should we bring?
We recommend swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses and a small dry bag for personal items. Towels, drinking water, soft drinks and snorkelling equipment are provided.

What happens if the weather changes?
The crew monitor conditions and will adjust the route to find the calmest water. If the weather becomes unsuitable for travel, we’ll help you reschedule or arrange an alternative.
